Privacy Policy

The short version

• You sign in with Apple. We store your account and the content you save so it’s there across your devices.
• We store the Tiles and video links you save, plus the title and thumbnail we fetch for each link.
• We do not run advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, and we do not sell your data.
• You can delete your account and data at any time by emailing us.

1. Information we collect

Account information (Sign in with Apple)

You create your account using Sign in with Apple. Apple shares your name and an email address with us. If you choose Apple’s Hide My Email, we only receive a private relay address and never your real email. We store this to identify your account and, where available, to contact you about your account.

Content you create and save

When you use Tessera, we store the content you choose to put into the app:

• Tiles — the names, colors, sizes, order, and pinned state you set.
• Saved videos — the link (URL) you save and which platform it’s from, plus the title, thumbnail image, and author we fetch for that link.
• Your additions — any ratings, notes, or tags you attach to a saved video.

To be clear: Tessera saves links and their preview details. We do not download, copy, or store the actual videos — playback always happens on the original platform.

Purchase information

Tessera Pro is a one-time purchase. Payments are processed by Apple, and purchase status is managed through RevenueCat. We receive a purchase receipt and an app-specific identifier so we can unlock Pro for your account. We never see or store your card or full payment details.

Push notifications

If you allow notifications, our notifications provider (OneSignal) assigns a device push token and basic device information so we can deliver them. We also send a count of how many Tiles you have, which we use only to send relevant reminders. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

Clipboard (to help you save faster)

On iOS, when you open Tessera, the app may check your clipboard for a supported video link so it can offer to save it. iOS shows you a paste notification when this happens. The clipboard is read on your device only to detect a video URL — nothing is uploaded or stored unless you actually save that link.

Information stored only on your device

Some preferences stay on your device and are not sent to us — for example onboarding progress, your recent searches, which suggested links you’ve dismissed, and whether you’ve seen the rating prompt.

What we do not collect

• No advertising identifiers and no cross-app tracking.
• No third-party analytics SDKs.
• No location, contacts, photos library, or microphone access.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the core service — saving, organizing, and showing your Tiles and videos across your devices.
• To fetch a title and thumbnail for the links you save, so your Mosaic is visual and easy to scan.
• To process and restore your Tessera Pro purchase.
• To send notifications you’ve opted into.
• To respond to support requests and keep the app secure and working.

3. How your information is stored and shared

We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising. To run Tessera, a small number of trusted providers handle your information on our behalf — and only ever for the specific purpose listed below:

• AppleSigns you in and processes your App Store payments.
• SupabaseSecurely stores your account and the content you save.
• RevenueCatConfirms your Tessera Pro purchase.
• OneSignalSends the notifications you choose to turn on.
• ExpoDelivers app updates.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

4. Video details and third-party platforms

When you save a link, our server requests publicly available preview information (such as the title, author, and thumbnail) from the source platform — for example Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube — and may re-host the thumbnail image so it keeps working in your Mosaic. Tessera is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by these platforms, and your use of their content remains subject to their terms.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and saved content for as long as your account is active. If you delete specific Tiles or videos, they are removed from our systems. If you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except where we’re required to keep limited records (for example, a purchase record) to meet legal or accounting obligations.

6. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction — request a copy of your data or ask us to correct it.
• Deletion — ask us to delete your account and associated data.
• Notifications — turn push on or off in iOS Settings at any time.
• Clipboard — the paste prompt is controlled by iOS; declining it simply means we won’t suggest the copied link.

To exercise any of these, email developer@satyamsaluja.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those requests.

7. Deleting your account

You can request full deletion of your Tessera account and data at any time by emailing developer@satyamsaluja.com from the address associated with your account, or using the in-app account deletion option where available. We’ll process the deletion promptly.

8. Children

Tessera is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including authentication through Apple and encryption of data in transit. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

10. International users

We’re based in India and our service providers may store and process your information on servers located in other countries. By using Tessera, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in locations outside your own.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected here. Continuing to use Tessera after an update means you accept the revised policy.
